I installed the "Remove Non-viewable Menu Items" module (http://drupal.org/project/remove_nonviewable_menu_items) so I can have certain roles only see what menu items they are allowed to see in their group. That module seems to work great so far but I cannot seem to give the correct permissions for a user in a Publisher role to only see and edit the content they are allowed to in they Group using the admin/content/node wihtout assigning the role the 'administer nodes' witch gives them way to much access. Is this module supposed to help with this or perhaps another module? What to do to allow group publishers to access the "admin/content/node" and only see and edit the content in their specific groups?

OG User Roles will not help you with this. As soon as you go to the "admin" tree, you are outside group context. OGR only grants role permissions when the user is in a particular group where he is given that role.
