I'm trying to understand why when I didn't check off friendlist in the Advanced Permissions of this module and when the user goes to log in with their Facebook account, the message is:

"envirocommons.net would like to access your public profile, friend list and email address. "

All I am asking for is name and email address. Do you know if there's a way to adjust that message? It's misleading.

Subscribing. Same problem for 7.x version.

Look at: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/your-info-on-other#applications

... your basic info (we sometimes call this your "public profile"), which includes your User ID and your public information. We also give them your friends' User IDs (also called your friend list) as part of your basic info.

Yeah, Facebook considers your friend list as part of your "basic access". It's combined into the most basic permissions you can possibly request. :P

So the statement is not misleading at all and in a way, I'm glad Facebook is actually reporting that now, though it's unfortunate that you can't simply not request access to that permission to prevent the message.

Thank you for the explanation. At least now I know how to respond if users question this.
