The module states that SSL is required because all URLs must be https, but I've pored through https://dev.twitter.com/docs/cards and have found no reference to this requirement. It seems this may be a deprecated requirement from the alpha/beta Twitter Cards days? Or I'm missing something.

Thanks for noticing that. Original Twitter Cards required SSL, but that requirement seems to have been dropped. FYI I also updated the module's description accordingly.
