hello everyone,

I wanted to update you all on a new company that i have just opened that offers professional support for WebLOAD an excellent load testing tool that has been recently offered as open source.
the idea of Openability is to offer support training and consulting for people that develop web sites and need to stress test their applications but do not want to pay the tens of thousands that commercial tools cost.
i am an ex Radview product and development person and truly believe that WebLOAD with Openability is the best offer for your dollars.

I'm currently working on a starters kit for load testing for drupal using webload. its going to be free on our web site http://www.openability.net

you can find a download of webload at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=189476

if any one has questions about load testing, performance testing or webload and openability
I'm here

First thanks for downloading

First thanks for downloading webload it’s the best stress tool you will find for free or eve in the low thousands.
Building a good and meaningful load test is not that hard. The basic idea is to create a scenario that represents in the most accurate way the behavior of a user.
* make sure you put Sleep times in the script. Users tend read the page as robot tools can run very fast
* put random elements to make sure you create a variety of situations
* try to create a script that will cover as much of your site as possible - or if the site is very big make more the one script for each use case

When you have a script that you are happy with you can test it using one user and then create a load test.
When defining a load test you need first to decide what you are testing for? Memory leaks, peak behavior, maximum loads? When that question is clear you can defined the correct scenario.

Then when you run the test look at the measurements, start with hits per second, round time, response time and see that they behave according to expectations

Take a look at our web site maybe we can help http://www.openability.net
