Type: Training Windows CVS
Author: a...@rocktreesky.com
Contributed projects are stored on drupal.org using a version control system called CVS. All project maintainers must use CVS to manage their code. TortoiseCVS is a popular GUI application used on Windows to work with CVS. There are written instructions in the handbook on how to use it but a video that shows how to install TortoiseCVS and then use it to add and update a project on drupal.org would be an invaluable tool for visual learners and people who have difficulty reading English.
The task will involve learning how to install the application and using it to complete basic CVS tasks: adding a project, creating a branch and creating a tag. Then record and narrate a video that walks through these steps.
The deliverable for this task is to create a handbook page in the Video and Slides section and upload a short video (less than 15 minutes) in mp4 format that shows how to install TortoiseCVS then use it to add a new project to drupal.org, create a branch and create a tag. The task is complete upon review and approval by a documentation team member.

add1sun commentedkyl191, looks good! This will be really helpful for people who are new to CVS. I did a little compression of the file to get it a little more manageable in terms of file size.
If you can create a new handbook page as a child of the Dev Video page (http://drupal.org/node/128758) with a brief explanation and a link to the CVS handbook, I'll take care of getting the video uploaded to blip.tv and linking it all up. Once we have the book page, this task is complete!

KentBye commentedI just recompressed the video according the settings that I usually use -- as detailed here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/2424#comment-22103
There is at least one place with fast scrolling where there are compression artifacts, but the information isn't vital.
Other than than it looks really good.
Here is the blip.tv links for the video:

kyl191 commentedHi,
I've created a page under the Dev How-To as per add1sun's instructions (Link)
I'm cross-posting this to Drupal's GHOP page too just for reference. Thanks to all for your help!
