Entity is a great module and the hub for many other modules, however it is causing an increasing number of bugs as other modules release updates, but Entity does not.
NOTE: I do not mean to imply that people are not working on Entity, but rather to the contrary. It seems that the troubles I have encountered have all been solved in the dev branch.
In every case (three in the last 2 weeks on 3 different customer sites) the answer to my WSODs and endless error messages has been to "update Entity to the latest dev". This has been especially prevalent in interactions with UUID, Field Collections, and Field Group modules. The fact that we are routinely having to use the dev branch of an established module is bad, though, and it reflects badly on Drupal and the product that we produce as developers.
Is there anything that is delaying the release of the next version? Is there anything that we can do to help it to happen?
