i want to implement following functionality using notification module.

i want to implement following functionality using notification module.
when user subscribed to a taxonomy term he should see all the contents related to that taxonomy term as his recommended contents. this should be user specific. i have tried using views but no success. can anyone tell how to go about it using views or suggest any tutorial.
