I am looking for an individual to take on the project of updating a Drupal based site from version 5 to 7 as well as updating all relevant modules (there are many) or finding suitable replacements plus recommending a new US hosting provider and moving the site to said provider. I am an amateur that built this site about 4-5 years ago but it is now plagued with minor bugs and one or two major bugs including the poor performance of the hosting company. I do not have time these days to complete this task myself as it would likely take me 200 hours to teach myself and carry it out, whereas I'm sure one of you pros can get it done much faster.

Currente site statistics:
Drupal Version 5.19
Approx 35,000 Nodes
Approx 15,000 Users (not all active)
Approx 120,000 Comments
Approx 50 Modules in Use

The site belongs to a non-profit organization that hosts a large online community which is mostly forum based. A reliable chat room is also needed for the community.

You will need to complete a test run using backups of:
Upgrading Drupal version from 5 to 7
Upgrading or replacing all modules and working out nuances so they integrate relatively seamlessly
Likely the theme will need to be replaced and possibly tweaked.
Migrating the extremely large database and site to the new hosting provider (data loss or deletion is not an option)
Allow user testing of the migrated 'test site' for a period of a few days.
Do it all over again 'live' once everything has been signed off.

We do not desire a 'by the hour' pricing as funds will be raised for this project from the community prior to services starting. Please quote a price range based on what you think the project is worth at a minimum and maximum. If you have questions I am happy to provide more specifics - please ask your questions in this thread so others have the benefit of seeing the answer.

Please speak fluent English. Additionally, please answer the following questions:

Gambling, Alcohol, Marijuana, and "street drugs" are highly regulated or illegal partly because of their addictive nature. Do you feel these should be regulated the way they are or should they all be legal, with full responsibility being with the owner to control their habits?

Are you an avid video gamer? Which games specifically?

Please describe your overall general web design knowledge.

Please send these answers and your quote to me via my contact page at http://drupal.org/user/272950/contact

Please post any questions in this thread.

Thanks!

James

Here is a list of modules used copied from the Modules page in Administration. There are no custom modules. As I mentioned if these modules do not have existing Drupal 7 upgrades available then part of the project will be to port them to Drupal 7 or find a comparable replacement. I have removed Drupal Core modules from the list. Thank you!

Thanks for listing the modules.

Could you provide a link to your website? This could possibly help us to assess the amount of work needed.

Also, any reason why you are asking everyone to answer your questions in regards to Gambling, Alcohol and street drugs? Why or how does this relate to the website work?

thanks,

I wouldn't say that anyone else would do it significantly faster, I have a feeling the budget for this won't match the work involved.
