Can anyone confirm if secure pages 7.x-1.0-beta1 require core patch for Drupal 7.22?
The project page status mentions the dev version but no words on the beta version.

Yes. Currently beta1 and dev are the same. The message is a little confusing.

When 1.0 comes out it will no longer require the patches (or at least that is the plan).

There is no ETA for a stable release because it is being held up by these two issues:
#961508: Dual http/https session cookies interfere with drupal_valid_token()
#471970: DrupalWebTestCase->getAbsoluteUrl should use internal browser's base URL

The project page mentions that as soon as those issues are fixed in core there can be a stable release.

Because there is no ETA on those there can be no ETA on this.
