When trying to add a quicktab into a panel page the I receive an Ajax http 500 error and the Panel page crashes. The error log in apache writes the following:

PHP Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in .../includes/common.inc on line 4462.

This was working with the previous version 7.x-1.2 of CTools.

This issue appears if you have CTools version 1.2 or 1.3 it should be fixed in the next release of CTools, you can use the dev version of CTools or apply this patch #1925018: Adding a renderable-array block to a page gives errors in the admin UI.
