This really baffls me: I have two versions of drupal 4.6 and 4.5 each with own db on my localhost. I can log onto each one but when I try to access any page or admin seting in the 4.5, it switches to the other 4.6 version and theme. No other programme i run with different versions in subdirectories does this.

The 4.5 is running from a virtualhost and the 4.6 is in a subdirectory of my main directory. I'm on Apache 2. Still baffled after reading all the multiple site posts.

So how can I test a different version on the same server?

Are you sure that you set the base_url varible in the config file for the 4.5 version?

If it's the same as the 4.6 version it will reroute all URLS to that one.

The same happens vice versa I assume. ( I havn't really played with 4.6 yet)

Hope that helps.

Yes you're right about that. I had configured them ok, but when installing a vs. Apache2, the .conf file was serving from a different directory so I had to change my browsers' URL to include the username, instead of just localhost. ANyway, I reconfigured it to serve from my user sites folder, which is what I prefer as I keep my user files on a different partition sepearate from the system software.

Thanks very much.
