I am happily using the 2.x branch and think its pretty great. However, using the 2.x-dev version causes Drupal's update manager to spit out this error:

I was wondering if the 2.x branch could be marked as supported here - http://drupal.org/node/914910/edit/releases. Ideally we can get out a stable release (similar to Media: Youtube) but simply marking it as supported will help more folks use it (since 2.x seems to be where most of the action is on this module).

Are you using the 2.x branch with the 1.3 release of Media or the supported equally unsupported 2.x release of Media and File Entity?

I am but with some of the patches on other issues in use

I think populist was asking to get a 2.x version to be marked as an 'other' release, just like the 2.x version of media. Yes, it's not the recommended version, but it's still a supported version, and doesn't show as an error in the update report, like the image that was posted.

#3 is correct that I am just asking for it to be an 'other' release instead of the recommended one. This will help more people use the module and can get some more patches/interest rolling.

I was granted the power and went ahead and got things in order. A release of 2.0-RC1 has been rolled.
