I believe that the annotate module is still fairly early in its development, but planned features include in-text marginalia or comments. Also, I'm wondering if this module would benefit from some of the work done for other rating systems like fivestar, etc.? It may be better to have a stand alone rubric module that works with both this assignment module and the gradebook module. I know this opens a big can of possibilities, but I'm posting this as more-or-less a brainstorm. Thank you for the module!

I definitely want to integrate this module with both the annotate module and a rubric module. Originally, I planned to include simple rubric functionality inside the writing_assignment module but this conversation convinced me of the value of having the rubric functionality be separate. If the rubric module is created with a simple api, it'd be easy to integrate it with the writing_assignment module and other specialized assignment modules. The rubric module in turn would integrate nicely with the gradebook module.
