Looks like there was a lot of abandoned development in the 6.x-2.x branch back in 2011. Not sure what all was going on there, but this error does go away if you use that code.

This patch will apply those updates if you play it overtop the 6.x-2.0-rc1 release. For me, not all of the hunks succeeded. I'm not sure why. But this error did go away.
