Release notes

This is ALPHA2 of Mail Editor for Drupal 7.

We do not recommend installing alpha versions on a production site, but we encourage you to test it and provide feedback (both good and bad!) in the issues queue. See #1262746-3: Mail Editor for D7 — BETA2 for details.

The Token module provides essential assistance for defining templates, but Mail Editor will work fine without it, too.

Changes since ALPHA1:
New features:
- Major overhaul
— Expand conditional text into dynamic text, including array iteration and multi-line [array:join:?],
— improved modularization, allowing better client integration,
— purge and auto-purge of unused templates.
- Implement conditional text (and extract the hook_mail_alter() implementation into an .inc file).
- Add update_7001 to upgrade D6 Mail Editor tokens to D7 Core tokens. Client modules must implement a similar function to update their tokens!
Bugs fixed:
- Fix line endings (no functional change).
- Some code refactoring and renaming (no functional change).
- Add README.txt and clarify description in .info file.

It is still in early development and certainly not ready for production use.

There have been no changes to this code since 2010-12-28, and no notable bug reports by the date of this release.
