tasks do not show in tasklist - only Master Tracklist

Description
I want to organize tasks by creating a task, and then create subtasks of the parent task.
When I create a subtask the parent task does not appear in the Parent Tasklist: item - its filled with Master Tracklist as the only item.
It does not appear possible to create a hierachy of tasks.
I'm also using tasklist advanced to enable tasks to be treated as events.
