Hi

Media front player is fantastic. I have created an upload of a FLV file following the instructions and it works fine. However it would be so much easier if I could use the URL of the FLV file from a different server, as there are 33 video files, so streaming from the server would be faster and make sure I have the lastest updates.

As mentioned when I upload the video flv file it works fine.

When I link the url from the remote server or the url from the same server nothing happens.

When I link to a url from Vimeo or YouTube it works fine.

So I am only having problems with loading FLV file from a remote server, but I don't have any problems when I upload it.

Hope I am making sense!! Can anybody help please?

Many thanks in advance.

D

I think it has to do with the encoding. I just tried out these flv test videos, and they work find with most recent dev version of MediaFront and when used as links. Please update to 2.2 or the most recent dev to rule out an outdated version as the issue.

panditvarunHSK, if you are having a different problem not the same as this, please open a new issue.

I checked external flv videos with most recent IE10 and FF27.0. The external videos in #2 play fine. However, I cannot get these flv external links to play in Chrome 32. This is a ongoing problem with Chrome, noted on this forum. Something is currently wrong with Chrome's Flash support.

For anyone trying to get flash videos to work with MediaFront, make sure you are using the most recent version of Flash and an updated browser. Check your Flash version here. (Of course, this doesn't help if you have someone using your site with outdated software, but at least you can troubleshoot to make sure it is working on your end.)

Summary: External flv links work in most recent IE and FF, but not Chrome. Chrome is working on fixing their Flash issue.

Update: I checked FF again, and links for the flvs I shared are not working. (Not sure what happened in that short of a period of time.) I uploaded the first of those flvs and it plays fine on FF and Chrome. But flv links are not currently playing on Chrome or FF for me.
