implement a way to Include field formatters

It would be grate if their was an option, or way to Include the field formatters, for field content.
I understand their is currently no way to select which type the field state is, example: teaser - full node, perhaps including a default setting type would work to include the teaser or full node formatters? or perhaps a block setting could be included under Display fields,
Example: Field Type - Label - Teaser - Full - Block
