Greetings,

I have chosen String: URL path as a selection rule. However, when I try to add that path to submenu in the main menu I am told the path does not exist. How do I get a menu entry for variant paths into the menu? Thanks for this absolutely amazing module! Cheers Kevin

I don't understand what you mean by submenu in the main menu and how this pertains to CTools selection rules. Can you clarify what you mean?

Thanks for your reply, normally, when one creates a panel they have the option to set a menu item that will appear in the main menu that is a link to that panel. but this option does not exist for variants. so how for example, can i have a menu item on the main menu that links to a variant?

in my particular case i have three homepage variations for example purposes. i created a homepage custom page with two variants. i want variant 2 and 3 to be available in the submenu under the top level HOME link... i can't figure out how to accomplish that.

No, that's the exact opposite of how the page manager system works.

If they're variants, they're not independent pages with their own URLs. You can't just visit a particular variant by going to a particular URL.

If you want that, then what you need to do is to create 3 separate pages and put them into the menu normally. Then on your frontpage you could use the http response variant instead of a panel variant to redirect to the proper page, so that your homepage really is just a redirector.

OK. I understand it now. However, I don't see why I would need to use the response option... if i have to create three unique separate panels pages anyway, they will have the option to create a link. I appreciate your help. Thanks again.
