When editing a node to change the term for that node i found that some times it works and the term changed.

Many other times nothing change and still the same term every time it fails despite i didn't choose a default value.

So what would make that error ?

Any chance you could provide some more details (for example about your configuration, the fields in the content type, field settings, javascript errors, the vocabulary itself, ...)?

Please test the latest development version also.
