I just upgraded a test server to the latest CVS version. All went smooth except for the fact that personal galleries have seemingly disappeared. Will these be reinstituted in image.module or am I missing a new and different module that now handles the personal galleries?

I also miss personal image galleries.. I'm using album.module as a temporary replacement. I havn't tried gallery2 integration yet, but perhaps I'll give it a try if personal galleries aren't coming back. Will personal galleries be coming back?

i'm going to bump this to the top of the list.......The personal gallery is large part of my site and makes this module unusable for me if its not included.....

If it were up to me: no.
If you want more advanced gallery features, you should join the development of (NOTE: that is NOT the same as "use"!) shazamgallery

Do you have any ideas for how you'd like to implement personal galleries in shazam? I'd be happy to put some work in on this, because my users have been crying out for it since we moved to Drupal a year ago. Would it be "better" to create a seperate module for this feature, so that people can achieve personal galleries with the standard image module? This would keep shazam smaller and more focused.

I'd like to see the following features:

  • Seperation of "images" and "personal images" using node types. The old method of adding a "personal" checkbox to the image upload form was ugly, and caused confusion when the user is presented with a taxonomy select drop-down when all they want to do is upload to their gallery.
  • The ability to move/shadow personal images into the regular galleries
  • Sub-galleries? Could be hairy, but useful.

Management of the personal gallery contents could be handled with the workspace module, perhaps with some tweakery and changes.
