It appears that the module reports an iPad as a "desktop" device when using URL redirection and "Switch theme based on the URL." Thus, the "mobile front page" doesn't work for the iPad under these circumstances. It appears that "desktop" can be changed to "mobile" in the device detection portion of the module but it seems like the user interface should include an option regarding the interpretation of iPads so that a unique "mobile front page" can be used for the iPad as well.
