UPDATE May, 22 - behavior verified on 3.2 but does not exist in 3.3

On Commons 3.2 the view commons_homepage_content does not display content for a group a user is following if they are are not a member of the organic group (contributing).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create user
  2. Go to notification settings, follow some groups (e.g. New York, Boston)
  3. Without posting go to homepage and filter on following (no content displayed)
  4. Post to any group (New York)
  5. Revisit homepage and all content for the group posted in #4 displayed, but still not any groups followed in #2 (New York content displayed, Boston not visible)

This is not the behavior on the latest 3.x-dev. I'll try to track down today what is different, but I welcome any direction.

Effectively, i have the same experience and i'm confusing with the following group option or it dosen't work properly. If i follow a group, i should have the list of all content of group.
I have observed a strange comportment : if a user post something in a group and if he follow the same group, at home page, with the "following" option the filter, all content published in the group are listed. Group following work well only if a user post something in the group.

Updated description and adding radar tag per discussion with ezra-g at commons bof. Will try to work on patch, welcome any direction. It's not obvious why 3.2 isn't working as expected/intended.

I'm showing the same thing. Unable to reproduce in the latest build of commons with build-commons-dev.make.

Marking as fixed.

Reopening as suggested by Acquia support as I'm seeing this basic issue in 3.17. I had added another issue at https://www.drupal.org/node/2331727 that is very similar but not exactly the same. I'm not sure if it's an entirely new issue or this one may have popped up again.

I won't change any other issue details since I don't want to mess anything up.
