I have installed successfully User Relationships hoping to get node access to work. I guess I need a bit of help :)

I dont use OG I simply want to restrict access to content to everyone. Nobody is allowed to see content of other users on my site unless they have a relationship with that user. But I cannot get this to work properly. I have created a relationship type, Friends and have the permission set in such a way that the user can allow friends to see their content. However, this is not working as planned. All other content is still visible to all other users. It is not restricting the content. How do I properly set up my permissions that it works?
