I get this for every Translation whether it be spanish, italian, german, etc, etc

* Translation file it.po broken: syntax error in line 34.
* Translation file it.po broken: Could not be read.
* Translation import of it.po failed.

This used to work for me before I recompiled apache so Im gathering upon recompiling ive missed out on some extensions, I have also noticed that its hit and miss between drupal users in the importing of po files.

Are you really using Drupal 4.4? In recent versions the locale module is in Drupal core and not called localegettext anymore.

no im using new version, but for some reason i couldnt choose empty or none
