A nice thing about autocomplete Deluxe is the ability to scroll through a list of available terms. Which "Autocomplete term widget (tagging)" doesn't do, it only shows a short list.
However, if the term list contains, say 20000 items then autocomplete Deluxe can't deal any more and gets stuck.
Maybe not trying to load all terms would resolve this?

I would like an option to set the number of terms displayed. Also the no focus feature doesn't work if it is searching for new terms.

Hi, @IT100 and @MGParisi - a few months after you both posted to this issue, a "limit" configuration parameter was indeed added to Autocomplete Deluxe. I trust that solved the limit/speed problems for both of you, so I'm closing this issue as outdated.

@MGParisi - I'm really not sure what you're referring to here: "Also the no focus feature doesn't work if it is searching for new terms."

If this is still a problem for you with the latest dev code, could you open a new issue for it? I don't see it being related to needing to limit the number of terms, based on your description...
