Everything I log in with the Temporary invitation email, I get the admin role.
I did set in the Temporary invitation preferences to assign a more restricted role, but it doesn't work.

ok found it. I was testing the email with my admin email.

Right, when you invite a mail address that already exists then the user belonging to this mail address is invited. New feature in 5.x-2.x.
