In #1924126: Group beans by block type in the CTools/Panels content type (sic) plugin some new variables were introduced for controlling how Beans show up in ctools menus. We should provide an admin screen where these variables can be set via UI.

Thanks for adding the other patch. Should we also cover documenting the variables via this patch or add another one? (I think we need an updated readme.txt anyway)
