I am using a custom node for my default front page, and making the regular front page only available to members. TAC Lite restricts access correctly if I publish content using my MEMBERS taxonomy term, but if I select "promoted to front page" it becomes searchable to the public. Is this by design? I would think some people would want some content on their front page restricted.

Are you saying that the content does not appear on the front page, but does appear in search results?

Also, try to reproduce this issue with a default content type (story or page). Could be your custom content type is allowing access, not tac_lite.
