I'm trying to setup commons with a number of other drupal sites. I've been working on this for weeks.
I've tried using bakery, domain access, account sync, and setting cookies through settings.php.

none of these seem to work. I'm sure that others are using drupal commons in multiple site installs. I feel like I'm swimming up stream here. What gives?

Can someone tell me what the best course of action is?

I'm not currently using it, but I thought that I had this working with Oauthconnector and OAuth Login Provider. I don't remember the exact details, but here is one link that might help. How to get oauthconnector working with oauthloginprovider

In general, you'll make it easier for others to provide you with support if you follow the guidelines for making a good issue report.

I'm not trying to setup Google/facebook sync with commons, I am trying to setup a single sign on system so that users dont have to sign out and in to use other drupal sites, as well as profiles following through to other drupal sites on the domain. Thanks for posting the good issue report, I'll read that and post another good one for ya.
