When I create a numbered list, fcke can't count beyond nine. After that it starts over with 0. Sourcecode desn't look unusual. Numbering doesn't improve after saving the page ...

This sounds like a clipping error - numbered lists don't start at 0, so the 0 you see must be 10 with a hidden 1.
This is fixable by using different CSS for the fckeditor areas.
