This module seems like exactly what I'm looking for BUT, after installinbg and updating nothing related to this module comes up anywhere. there are no new links in the entire admin page nor are than any new settings in the comment admin or content types admin. I have cck and am running 5.1. I can't understand why nothing happened.

It could use some documentation. I work this out from the code.
After enabling the module , a checkbox appear when you configure a specific field of a cck content type saying: "Allow comments to alter this field"
