I'm using Mailchimp module 7.x-2.10 and I'm getting no subscription happen when people check the 'subscribe' box on a webform submission. (It's a freeform list). I've run cron and I see a simple error message in the log "E-mail not subscribed: xyz@gmail.com".

What could be causing this?

Sorry - figured it out. There were 'required' merge fields (e.g. FNAME, COUNTRY) in Mailchimp but I hadn't added these to the "Mailchimp merge fields" setting when setting up my checkbox on the webform. I think this is something that could be easily overlooked, perhaps some clearer instructions or a more descriptive error message could be helpful.
