I have Acquia Dev Desktop installed on an Apple Mac. I would like to permanently move my development to another Apple Mac. Both Macs are running the same OS. How do I transfer all my sites (there are many), the stacks and any other Acquia files reliably and easily? To clarify: I understand how to move an individual site to a host server so I'm not asking for that.
I tried to copy the site files and the stack files into the same directories on the new Mac: the Acquia Dev Desktop Control Panel opens, Apache Web Server starts but the MySQL Database Server failed to start.

I'd try downloading a new copy of the Dev Desktop and setting up one site. Then you should have more luck copy/pasting files over.
Is this the only way? I have
Is this the only way? I have a lot of sites and have a few different installations of Acquia too. To set up each site, I would have to export/import the databases for every single site one at a time.

Looks like you can browse through finder to the application and get to the mysql folder. Did you copy all of that over as well? If that's still not working I would do a new install, then copy over the contents of the mysql folder along with sites and see if that works.
Did you keep the folder structure the same?
