Consistency of Default Settings

I am not sure if this is a bug, support request of feature request -;)

Newbie Expectation: Settings in content type Feed (feedapi_node) establish the default settings in create content -> feed.

Result: Number of promoted items and author are the feedapi defaults rather than those indicated in the edited content type.

I am also unable to establish the default vocabulary. In other words, the vocaublary selectors show up in the add feed form but there is no way to create a default in the content type.

The objective is to safely add a bunch of feeds using the add feed block without then having to edit all of them.
