CivicActions, LLC is looking for a Human
Interaction/Web UI developer and/or a PHP gunslinger.
CivicActions, LLC is a consultancy specializing in
building applications at the juncture of Civic
Engagement and the Internet. We are building the
tools, capabilities and websites for the next
generation of distributed activism. We are looking
for professionals who are interested in working as
contractors on a number of signed client engagements.
Our customers are politically and socially progressive
organizations and political campaigns that "get it"
and are looking to leverage the web to deliver a
strategic advantage. Our work is the cutting edge of
distributed activism. Our shop is heavily invested
in (Free Open Source Software) FOSS development, all
of our code is released under Free licenses and our
written materials copylefted with Creative Commons
Licenses. We are currently looking to fill the
following position:

Human Interaction/Web UI developer -

You have a minimum of 3-5 years experience developing
web front-ends. You have excellent xHTML, CSS, and
JavaScript skills. You understand the problems of
real-world web development and are most interested in
solving your customers problems. You are comfortable
working with PHP and although you have great
experience implementing UIs you have a love for
designing great user experiences. You are most
energized when brainstorming with your clients and
coming up with simple yet powerful ways to express
their requirements in your designs.

and/or

PHP Uber Coder -

You have a minimum of 3-5 years as a web applications
developer and at least a year with PHP. You
understand what it takes to develop a data driven web
application from front to back and your strength is in
building modular code that gets the job done. You
love FOSS and spend a good amount of time hanging out
with other folks who do as well.

You should have good experience with:

*nix, PHP, MySQL, SQL, Apache, CVS, bugzilla

You should be familiar with at least some of the
following:

Extreme Programming, RAD, OOA/D/P, Design Patterns,
UML, DB normalization

You should be happy to work from home.
