Threaded comments

There's no reply link as part of the comments module in the Barlow theme. I was wondering if anyone had fixed this on their installation. Someone mentioned it as a bug report this summer instead of a feature request and got no answer. I don't know how challenging it would be to make the theme support threaded comments instead of just flat list, but if anyone has some code that would do it for me, that would be great.
