Description

Create documentation explaining how to theme a View so that it can be seen in a block using Flash. You can assume that the user has a certain amount of Actionscript experience.

1. Describe how to theme the View as XML data for Flash to load.
2. Show how add a block with the appropriate Object/Embed code (can use SWFTools here).
3. Explain how to use FlashVars to give the appropriate url to the View.
4. Show how to load the data with Flash and display it using Actionscript.
5. Provide an example of this in action.

I'm not at all familiar with what this task is trying to do, but it sounds like it could be cool.

This is a task where some good references could come in really handy--links to sites that do this already so students (and others) have an idea of what the final goal is. Also links to things that explain what actionscript, swftools, flashvars, etc. are. Maybe anyone who could do this task in the first place knows what those things are, but for someone like me this just looks confusing since I don't know what any of those things (other than Flash itself) are.

It seems to me that this could potentially be done better as a screencast rather than just a written script.

Also, it might be good if instead of "Provide an example of this in action." you provide a specific example for them to demonstrate, kind of like what was done in http://drupal.org/node/197308
