I know this is a problem because I spent a couple of hours to work around this problem.
Here is what the problem was: I copied google map js code into a node and Opera just displayed the map fine but not IE.
So here is what I did:
1. I downloaded the newest jquery.js file from dont know where.
My version is:

2. Upload this new jquery.js script into your drupal installation: /misc folder
3. Woala your map works in IE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes when I install a new module, the new jquery.js (61 KB) in overwritten with the old jquery.js (18 - 20 KB) file. If that happans you need to upload the new file again.
