Hi guys,

This is my first time posting here. I am part of smal Drupal dev shop in Vancouver. I thought that it may be a good idea to share with everyone our recent project that is in the beta launch stage.

http://www.industryblender.com/

This site is basically a portal for the catering industry. For this site, we used
ED-classified
CCK
Views
Calendar
JQuery
Gallery
Forms API
Profile
Ratings

There are still some IE 6 issues related to PNG transparency, but beyond that, we are at the beta stage.

Regards,

Excellent stuff, man. May I ask how the jobs portion is done?

And I am curious as to what is going on with the forums - are you integrating a third party forum? Seeing what you've done with the rest of the site I can't wait to see. Great work!

The jobs portion was done with CCK. We created 2 node types. 1 for limited members (only 5 postings per user) and 1 for regular users (unlimited).

The client would like to implement the forum as a phae 2 thing.

I assume discounts and restaurants were done with CCK as well? http://www.industryblender.com/discounts

How you create Events?
You don`t use Event module, only Calendar module?

Arnold Leung’s picture

We created our own CCK type for events.

nice the way you made the search so prominent. its fits the site.
very good idea to fill the footer with secondary information. it keeps the top from being cluttered. but still easy to find. i did click on some of the restaurant profiles and it looks like you have a few css problems.

yeh there are still somee CSS issues especially with IE 6.0. It was quite a pain to fix all those.

Very nice looking site!

What theme are you using?

Arnold Leung’s picture

This is a custom theme, but we built it upon the Garland theme (not recommended). We would use recommend building the site off Blue Marine.

That is a custom module that lets selects blocks that get randomly shown, and each block contains 1 of the banners.
