wiki (type) module

Hello Drupalars ..

I was wondering if there is a good module for implementing wiki in drupal.Essentially I am trying to have users edit and modify and create their own information about a topic with some moderation from my side.

I searched through the modules and have come across some that look like that would solve my need. But I am not sure which one is the 'best' one..

Could u please help me with suggestions and directions ...Thanks for your time.

No Wiki for Drupal

wallstarb - December 15, 2007 - 15:56

I was suprised that WIKI with correct markup etc is not part of the core for drupal, as WIKI is a very important piece of any socail/community related software. To date I havent found a very good wiki for drupal or even a very functional simple forums. The current implementation of forums is pretty cludgy (sp??) and overly simplistic. I'd love to see some modifications made to the forum as well as the addition of a wiki to the core...

Well! I know I am repeating

Well! I know I am repeating the obvious ....SO DRUPAL HAS NO WIKI !!!

I am very suprised..:-(

Drupal does have a wiki

cwgordon7 - December 16, 2007 - 03:08

This is absolutely and utterly false and a lie. Drupal does have wiki-functionality:

http://drupal.org/project/wikitools
http://drupal.org/project/pearwiki_filter
http://drupal.org/project/mediawiki

All of these modules help create wiki-like functionality within Drupal. I would like to know what sort of research you did to come up with the conclusion that

DRUPAL HAS NO WIKI !!!

For basic wiki functionality, even without additional modules, you can allow all users, even anonymous ones, to edit posts. Even groups.drupal.org allows users to create wiki pages which can then be edited by the community.

As most people don't want to

cwgordon7 - December 16, 2007 - 03:11

As most people don't want to have wiki's on their site, wiki should be kept out of the core. The general rule "no over complication of the core" is a basic standard for Drupal. Wikis can be created by contributed modules; it would be more helpful to the community if you could point out specific things that you cannot do with Drupal. To say "I havent found a very good wiki for drupal" doesn't help...
