I couldn't get v2 to work properly.

It appears in the blocks list, you can configure the permissions for it, but it doesn't appear on the main admin screen to give it the feed URL.

Downloaded the v1 of the module and it works perfectly, I was able to see the admin link, configure the URL and have the block actually appear.

I'm running Drupal 5.5

Anything else I can do to help debug this, please let me know.

I am in the "I really, really hate CVS" mode and probably got the tags backwards when I attempted to branch for Drupal 6. Try grabbing the tarball that's allegedly for D6 and see if it works on your D5 installation.
