when people get in an open action space,
or when they create new objects there,
or when they post comments there,

other participants to the action space are supposed to receive a notification

can we make a status about how this works currently ?

Email messages.

But since you raised it... - what about the alerts for users about new actions in their country/place?
That was one of the features that was cited many times when planning the site.

Exactly who do you want to be told about what? "when people get in an open action space" does not compute for me.

We had alerts to users for postings in an action space to which they were a participant (subscriber) turned on by default-- we disabled this by request.

WHO asked to take this out ?.. i think this should be by default....and was expecting this

Ultimately it worked... but a better post-by-email system is very much needed.
