This work is for a large, urban public library in the U.S. We are accepting bids for additional formatting to the events module; we would like the daily and monthly event listings to show a custom field (“location”)...this field was created independent of the location module, which we did not have installed, and now there is too much data to go back and do it the easy way.
We would like a separate quote/bid for an additional add-on; to allow users to choose more than one term at a time from the available taxonomies associated with events. For example, right now users can choose from event type, age group or location. We need users to be able to choose all or some of these criteria when searching. If there is a way to do that in Drupal without additional work, please feel free to tell us that also.

It is a bit unclear to me what you are trying to accomplish, but have you thought about extending your fields with CCK? CCK is a construction tool that can add extra input fields to your node submission forms.
I think we used CCK to create the "Location" field...
So the problem is that the field doesn't show up on the monthly or daily list views, only on the daily view.
