Description
Due to name collision atachment box is not shown when upload module is enable. I've workarounded this (custom port of the module prior to 5.x branch) renaming "attachments" to "fmattachments" in module code.
Sorry I can't create a patch :(

Well, yes. And frankly I'm surprised it would work at all, there's various other collisions that would make filemanager/attachment unstable with the Upload module enabled. Hence the specific instructions to disable the Upload module first.
This is by design. So there's no plan to change it in the future.
Thanks,
- Steve

So what about people who are using this module in conjuction with upload default module due to the necesity of having on the same site a system to upload both private and public files?
I've been using both modules on a heavy loaded multisite server for more than 2 years without any issues because of the need I mentioned.
I think solving name collisions would be worthly enought.
Sorry, but I change the status in order to have an answer.
Thanks for your attention. Regards
