Hi

Im trying to create a simple image gallery for a intranet we have a few thousand images that I need to load up so that the editors can see a thumbnail and then click on the image and see a bigger resolution image.

Ive tried to install the image module and although it works I can only see a thumbnail gallery if I click on the bottom right hand corner of my node which I think is the "gallery", can I not load up that "gallery" as a menu item.

Its also rather labour intensive as I can only do one image at a time is there a way to upload a batch of images.

I see there is also a gallery module but I cant seem to get that to work, is there a walk though on how to get it to work, maybe that is more the type of thing I need

Sure you can see a gallery with the image module. Enable the image_gallery submodule that's included with it. Then create some galleries in the admin system. Then add a menu item for them.

There's another bundled module that lets you import a batch of images, but they have to be on your server already -- so you'll need FTP access to upload them first.

Ok I finally got back to the galleries and have sort of got them to work...is there a way to get the "picture Gallery" to appear as a menu item, I can get the individual pics to appear in a menu but not the actual gallery

Where exactly do you enable it as a menu ? Sometimes it seems like there are so many different areas you have to set up to make things work.

The Image Gallery module adds a menu item automatically -- I think it's in the Navigation menu, called Image galleries (I've customized mine). But it might be it's disabled by default.
Go to admin/build/menu and click enable.
