Hi there,

I am new to Drupal so forgive me if this has been suggested before.

I am currently working on a website that will have several hundred images in the gallery section (they're all tiny) - in order to catalogue them somewhat intelligibly I have set up individual galleries and sectioned the various images off according to their respective topics. Considering the sheer volume of images I have taken to naming them 1, 2, 3 etc. which would not be an issue if it weren't for the fact that all the images, from all the galleries, are being stored in the same folder on the server.

I've had a browse around the various settings for the Image module, but couldn't find any setting which will allow me to create subfolders on a per-gallery basis inside the main image folder. I was wondering whether this would be possible, so that the file structure that you see inside the Drupal interface (i.e., information ordered on a per-gallery basis) would be mirrored on the server.

Thanks!

I would also like to see this as a feature, so much so that I would be willing to help fund its development. If a little money would help, I would appreciate hearing from whoever is in charge of this or this project to see if we can make this happen in relatively short order.

Thanks, and take care out there.

I would also LOVE to see this feature implemented. With many galleries, the number of files in the image folder is getting quite large. If anyone has any ideas for workarounds, I would LOVE to hear them.

Warm Regards!

I've outlined one workaround here: http://drupal.org/node/193285

And this is a duplicate of http://drupal.org/node/103793 - repeat your offer of a bounty there, and it's entirely possible that you'll get results.
