searching textarea

I just got a quick and simple question... are there any tools that let you search textarea? I use Firefox most of the time, and when you 'search' a particular page, it doesn't go through the textareas. I just want to be able to search through my PHP code, etc. when editing it within Drupal. I got fckeditor installed, but it doesn't let you search when you turn on 'source'.

Any other suggestions on how to modify your code using external editors welcome.
