Hi Everyone,

I am trying to develop a web site for a non-profit and have had a request to have a block on the main page that flashes (like a slide show) donors. They want to be able to flash continuously and randomly names of donors in a block at the top of the screen.

I was thinking about the quotes module, but that doesn't work because there are so many donors that the site would never get through the entire list for years!? with a cron job set for every 1 minute (plus that is system intensive?).

Does anyone have an idea for this? I was thinking of some kind of flash module that would sit in a block and just scroll through the names randomly. Sort of like a slide show from one of the major picture sites (just with text it automatically creates?). I have searched drupal's site, but just am coming up empty using search terms.

Anyone had any experience or ideas for me? Thanks for any help you might have for me!

A couple of jQuery plugins, newsticker and JTicker, may do what you're looking for. I don't know of any Drupal modules for integrating them though, so you might have to write something to handle that part.

I found one jCarousel drupal module for such work using jquery.I have customized it so that is will display user specific images from image module.I think u can customize this module for ur requirement.

U can add a custom block from /admin/build/block.
