its too long horizontally for the garland theme

I just looked at my website using garland, and dont see an issue. I am assuming your talking about the edit links where the width is probably greater than your page depending on your screen width.

Did you try scrolling down the screen to find the Horizontal scroll bar in the body of the window?

I'm using full browser screen, the edit alinks menu admin/build/alinks/edit

it breaks the theme and creates a horizontal scroll bar,

It appears as if its layered over on top

I am sure the module maintainer will be able to give you a better answer but i suspect the feature you mention is 'by design'. If you had a screen width of 2400 you wouldn't see a problem,

There are two issues that i can see.

First which is important is that it doesn't affect site visitors.

Second it causes a small inconveience to those administrating Alinks. There is a lot of information to view, for each link and in my personal opinion it is far better to have them in single lines and scroll, rather than wrapping the line.

I would not have said that having the scroll bar appear is breaking the theme.

If i have misunderstood , a screenshot may help to clarify

ah I see what's happening, I'm using Safari on mac, I took a look at it in firefox and the edit section stays in the center i-frame with its own scroll bar but in Safari it overlaps the full width of the screen. No doubt it's another one of those (displays differently on the mac) problems since most things are not designed to mac standards :) I'll live with it or find a way to adjust the css
